How we date a launch
Dating a launch is the part of this page that takes the work, because operators rarely announce the day they opened to a market. We use three states and publish which one a row is in, and the third state is the one most lists quietly skip.

The same record the licence, the offer and the wagering come from. This is what "Operator database" means in the table, and it is the state most rows are in.
- A regulator record carries a date
A licence or registration with an issue date. It is not the launch day, but it is a hard ceiling: nobody takes Canadian deposits before it. We say so when a year comes from there.
- Nobody published one
Then the column says "Not published". An invented year would rank just as well and would be worth nothing to the person reading it.
The same rule governs everything else in the register. A licence we have not verified is not written down as verified, and an offer we cannot source is not written down at all.
